MEGAN TOMEI...

Hi! I'm Megan. I am a born and raised New Yorker, and it remains to be 95% of my personality. I am currently bi-coastal; I received my BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, am currently pursuing my MFA at the University of Southern California.

I trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Stonestreet Studios for Film/TV. I have done acting apprenticeships at The Hangar Theatre and Powerhouse Theatre. I have also been a part of the LAByrinth Theatre Company and the Primitive Grace Theatre Company as a professional stage manager, actor and writer.

Growing up between Queens & Long Island, I had to battle my thick accent and love of all things bagel. It was tough. Luckily I overcame all that and was able to move to the city that wound up raising me.

During my senior year at NYU, I created my own web series on YouTube called "I Tried" (it's entirely improvised. what!? that's amazing!), I starred as Marie Antoniette in Marie Antoinette by David Adjmi at Playwrights Horizons, and have had various shorts produced on by Stonestreet's studio. Further, I interned at NBC in their Publicity/Photography department and Abrams Artists in their youth department.

As I entered the world beyond, I became a SoulCycle instructor (NYC/LA), a professional stage manager, and somehow dragged my skin sack across the country to Los Angeles for graduate school. I have performed on our main stage in multiple productions, the Kirk Douglas Theatre, held an internship at the Ojai Playwrights’ Conference, where I was able to develop my own work as well. I am currently in developments for my own short film, where I will star, write, and direct with a grant from Sony Productions.

If I'm not filming, writing, on a stage, or cackling somewhere in the depths of regret, you can find me on a mountain, with a slice of pizza in my hand, or posting about how much I love New York with captions are so close to being puns, but somehow always miss the mark (connect via Instagram @megantomei).
